Deliveroo launches game-changing Plus subscription service

  • Written by Media Release

Leading food company Deliveroo has today announced the launch of Deliveroo Plus, a new subscription service available to all food lovers in Australia.

Deliveroo Plus gives loyal customers the ability to subscribe and save, receiving unlimited free delivery for all orders. For just $18.99 a month, the service is now available for all customers to sign up.

Plus subscribers will also benefit from exclusive offers from select restaurants in their neighbourhood - an offering that Deliveroo will continue to expand to add even more value to their subscription.

Whether it is ordering breakfast, lunch or dinner from a favourite local restaurant, fresh meat for the BBQ or groceries and meal packs, Deliveroo customers are increasingly using the platform to order at all times of the day.

Customers who sign up could save up to twenty five dollars or more a month in delivery fees if they order from the platform regularly, and will have access to special deals and discounts from their favourite food providers.

A leading innovator in the food sector in Australia following the introduction of Editions and Marketplace+, the launch of this service is just one of a number of changes set to transform the food sector, following the path of other popular subscription services like Netflix and Spotify.

Levi Aron, Country Manager for Deliveroo Australia said:

“Deliveroo’s mission is to become the definitive food company. Thanks to our amazing restaurant partners, our fleet of riders and the technology that powers us, we are able to deliver the best service to our customers.

“We see the introduction of our new Deliveroo Plus subscription as a game-changer for the industry in Australia and we’re proud to be the first food delivery platform to offer this to our customers.

“Our customers tell us that they want an easier and more seamless experience when it comes to ordering food. We find they’re ordering on our platform even more frequently and for a range of reasons, whether ordering dinner when they work late or groceries delivered on the weekend.

“We’ve been blown away with the overwhelming response from our customers. Within the last few days of our soft launch, already more than 20,000 customers have signed up.

“Deliveroo is changing the way many customers experience food, and with the launch of Deliveroo Plus our customers stand to make significant cost savings and benefit from exclusive new offers and discounts.”

In other countries where Deliveroo has launched its subscription service, it has seen many existing customers take up the subscription service, huge gains in new customers joining the platform, as well as significant increases in customer order frequency - and the company expects the same in Australia.

This is the latest move in Deliveroo's rapid expansion in Australia, following the announcement that it is working with over 10,000 restaurants. The number of restaurants on the platform is growing so fast that by the end of the year Deliveroo predicts that it will work with 17,000 restaurants and food providers across the country.

This growth, combined with the fact that Deliveroo has enabled customers to order from further afield, means that the average Deliveroo customer now sees double the number of restaurants to order from, compared to the start of the year. With its Plus subscription, Deliveroo has taken convenience to a whole new level where customers can now fit their food requirements around their lifestyle and order whatever they want, whenever they want, with unlimited free delivery.
