Fun Things You Must Do In Perth

  • Written by News Company

Perth: Sun, sand and 19 beaches might seem to sum up the city, but not quite. The sunniest capital city in Australia offers so much more for you to do. Regardless of what your idea of fun is, you will find it here. Perth offers laid back activities, challenging activities, warm daytime activities and a vibrant nightlife as well. Here are the top fun things to do in Perth.

1. Indulge in the Food

It is no secret that the land down under offers some of the best dining experiences in the world. From seafood to fresh vegetables, Australia has everything to offer.

With so many eateries in Perth, it can be overwhelming to figure out which ones to visit and which ones to overlook. Luckily, there’s the Fremantle food tours. These tours are planned for Friday nights and take guest through six venues where they can sample both food and drink.

At the end of the tour, you can safely say you have sampled the best cuisine Perth has to offer, and you will have the bonus of a full stomach.

2. Hit the Beaches

You cannot be in Perth and not spend time at the beach. Now, this might be a different experience from other beaches you may have experienced because you are likely to enjoy your time without huge crowds that abound on many beaches around the world.

Maybe its reputation as one of the most isolated cities in the world has something to do with the low numbers, but it definitely allows you to enjoy the beaches in a freer, intimate manner. The sunsets and the sunrises are something you will not forget in a long time.

3. The Night Life

The Aussie nightlife is vibrant as well with dance, comedy clubs and party lounges. For those that enjoy a more risqué evening, Perth strippers are unlike any other.

Perth boasts of the loudest, hottest, sultriest exotic dancers. With authentic Aussie agility, these exotic dancers will turn the temperatures back up pretty quickly. For lovers of the female form, this is art at its best. Some venues may have a Topless Waiters.

4. Take a Cruise on the Swan River

Perth sits where the Sun River converges with the south-west coast. A cruise between Perth and the port of Fremantle is an excellent way to tour and spot most must-sees in the city.

On the cruise, you will see the spectacular swan bell tower, Kings Park, the swan brewery and much more.

Most of the cruises include lunch, wine tastings and once in a while, a welcome detour to a winery. If you prefer a more spectacular cruise, you can take a tour at night when the city lights reflect on the water.

5. Take a History Lesson on the Fremantle Prison Tour

The Fremantle Prison was built by ex-inmates in the 1800s and is central to Perth's history. The prison offers several tours, but the tunnel tour is the most exhilarating one and physically taxing as well.

A guide takes groups through tunnels 20 meters underneath the prison. To descend into the tunnels, you get into a harness-secured ladder. You are advised not to take this tour when pregnant, if you have a fear of heights, are claustrophobic or if you have had alcohol.

Something interesting about Australia is that 1 in 4 Australians was born overseas. Expect a healthy blend of different cultures while in Perth as well as good old Aussie friendliness and hospitality. Australians are so friendly and laid back, that you will have all the help you need when trying to find your way through the city.
