Atlanta Based Dental Expert – A Clinical Instructor and Regional Director for the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies – Recently Published the Bestselling Book “Break Away”

Atlanta, GA – August 19, 2015 - Since honing in on his passion and perfect niche in dentistry as a TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) specialist in the early 2000s, Dr. Fred Abeles has become one of the most sought after experts in the U.S., renowned for using revolutionary technology at his Atlanta Center for TMJ to help thousands of patients from across the U.S., Canada and overseas find relief from their chronic pain.

Employing everything from computer generated 3-D tomography, computerized mandibular scanning, electromyography, joint vibration analysis to LLT laser (cold laser therapy), he and his staff accurately diagnose the cause of headaches, migraines and TMJ pain. Renowned for achieving dynamic, lasting results for patients whose general dentists and physicians have come up short, Dr. Abeles institutes effective, customized, non-invasive TMJ therapy to help patients move beyond years of “kicking the can down the road” and covering symptoms with prescription drugs.

Beyond his unique ability to use innovative techniques to change lives by getting people out of long term debilitating physical misery by creating “happy muscles” related to problems in their bites, the small town Pennsylvania native – a graduate of Emory University Dental School – is one of a few select dentists in the world who has completed the Advanced and Masters Programs at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies – an internationally renowned institution dedicated to the progress of the dental profession through the integration of comprehensive diagnosis, contemporary techniques and technology.

As a longtime Clinical Instructor (since 1998) and Regional Director for LVI, Dr. Abeles draws on his unique motivational skills to teach and mentor dentists from all over the world – not simply about the latest trends, techniques and technologies, but also inspiring them to make powerful changes to their practices and personal lives. As a speaker and educator, he has taught in virtually every major city in North America. As Regional Director, he conducts post-graduate courses in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and throughout Canada training dentists in neuromuscular and cosmetic dentistry (his former specialty).

Those who have never met, worked with or heard Dr. Abeles in person can get to know him intimately via his 2015 book – an Amazon Bestseller in the Pain Management category - Breakaway: The New Method For Treating Chronic Headaches, Migraines and TMJ Without Medication. The 146-page tome answers, in easy to understand layman’s terms, the question, “What If You Could Eliminate Your Chronic Pain Once and For All…Without Medication?” Though the author is pleased to note that LVI founder (and Dr. Abeles’ longtime mentor) Dr. Bill Dickerson gives a copy of the volume to every dentist entering LVI’s Advanced Training program, it is equally designed as a practical guide for patients.

In line with the treatments patients undergo at the Atlanta Center for TMJ, the book’s core goal is to help chronic pain sufferers gain freedom from headaches, migraines or TMJ once and for all – regardless of how many times they’ve failed with treatment in the past. In a very conversational tone, Dr. Abeles digresses at key moments to tell anecdotes about his personal and professional journey – complete with Tony Robbins-like exhortations about taking risks to not only improve one’s health but one’s entire life.

“I felt that the treatment of TMJ, headaches and migraines was meaningful to me, congruent with my longtime desire to help people on a deeper level than just making pretty teeth and smiles,” he says. “It’s in line with my personal beliefs and purpose in life, which is to leave the world a better place than when we arrive. Aside from my beautiful family – my wife of 42 years and two adult children – the biggest blessing is that I have discovered the knowledge, skills and ability to change people’s lives.

“I help make them more active and restore them to the younger selves they were before the pain, almost like a do-over. At every therapy appointment at the Atlanta Center for TMJ we have our patients fill out a form asking what percentage of improvement they have experienced since they came to us. Over ninety-five percent tell us that their lives have changed for the better.”
