LOS ANGELES (February 2, 2016) – Actress LIZ FEMI emerges in an ambitiously witty recurring role in Judd Apatow’s anticipated original comedy series LOVE, premiering globally on Netflix beginning February 19th.

Created, written and executive produced by Apatow, Paul Rust and Lesley Arfin, LOVE follows nice guy Gus (Paul Rust) and brazen wild-child Mickey (Gillian Jacobs) as they navigate the exhilarations and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, love and other things they were hoping to avoid. Femi joins in the hilarious yet honest tale of modern relationships as a ‘Writer’s Assistant’ alongside Tracie Thoms (Rent, The Devil Wears Prada, Cold Case).

Femi was thrilled at the opportunity to work on the project, adding “it’s a joy to work with artists you’ve admired for many years. Everyone was remarkably open and the chemistry was perfect. Comedy sets are crazy fun. It’s hilarious to watch people try to keep a straight face and fail miserably.”

Beginning February 4th on BET, Femi collaborates on Steve Harper’s (Covert Affairs) new experimental project Send Me, a science fiction series about a comic bookstore owner who uses time travel to send people back to the slave era. And coming soon, Femi will appear in a memorable role as a grief-stricken maid facing David Duchovny in NBC’s period crime drama, Aquarius.

Born in the UK, raised in Nigeria and the U.S., Femi’s work is as diverse as her international background. Audiences will remember Femi from her recent appearance as the uber-polite social worker placating Amy Poehler on Parks and Recreation and then side-stepping Nick Kroll’s self-denial on The Kroll Show.

Femi earned high praise for her one-person show, Take Me To the Poorhouse, a comedic tale about a middle class Nigerian third grader who dreams of becoming poor in order to win the love of a poor classmate. The show was included in Ms. Magazine’s list of ‘Top 10 Shows’ at the Hollywood Fringe Festival; and won ‘Best of Fringe’, ‘Best International Show’, a ‘Duende Distinction’ and an NAACP Theatre Award nomination.

Femi’s theatre credits also include playing 14 characters in Nilaja Sun’s critically acclaimed No Child at Weston Playhouse, and the world premiere of Danai Gurira’s (Walking Dead) award-winning play, Eclipsed, alongside Uzo Aduba, for which she shared a Helen Hayes Award for Best Ensemble. Femi studied at the UR International Theatre Program and holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Acting from Harvard University.

Liz Femi is represented by Domain Talent and Liberman-Zerman Management.
