Wilmington, NC to Host Groundbreaking TEDxAirlie Event in Spring 2016

WILMINGTON, N.C. November 19, 2015 – SISDigital, along with co-organizers TekMountain and Cloudwyze, are thrilled to announce today that Wilmington, North Carolina will be hosting its very own independently organized TEDx event within the grand theatre of Thalian Hall in downtown Wilmington on March 31, 2016, 1:00 p.m.. The event will be appropriately named TEDxAirlie, highlighting Wilmington’s incredible local community, rich history, unparalleled ambiance, and will be extremely exclusive, with only 100 tickets available to the public that will go on sale in early 2016.

Pulling from local ties to the coast and themes of water, the Wilmington TEDxAirlie conference will present ideas related to “Making Waves.” Wilmington itself has made waves in national headlines, and continues to develop and grow. While economic advances that Wilmington continues to make are essential to its society, making waves in innovative ideas, technology, entertainment, and design are just as important to keep moving forward.

“A wave is an incredibly powerful force,” Explains lead organizer and CEO of SISDigital Ty Downing. “They perfectly symbolize what this world so desperately needs, disruptive and forward thinking. When you compare a wave to a movement, a single idea starts off as a ripple. It then begins to take form, growing in energy before it takes off in motion. A wave cannot be stopped. That’s what TEDxAirlie is all about. Making waves or disruption that will positively transform lives.”

What is essential for making waves in our society? What will make this world a better place? Organizers of TEDxAirlie want to hear your thoughts. The event is currently looking for local speakers who are committed to making waves within the Wilmington community that want to share their out-of-the-box ideas that could change the world in a TED style talk.

Speakers will appear alongside confirmed TEDxAirlie speaker Sandy Carter, who is IBM’s General Manager Ecosystems, a compelling Author, and IBM’s Social Evangelist.
