Make Money this Winter and Hire out Your Van

  • Written by: Matilda Ferguson

Whoever coined the term ‘sharing is caring’ got it right. In this economy, more and more are sharing their belongings to both save and earn money, such as Brisbane-based caravan owner Luke who now uses Camplify as an investment strategy.

With the average caravan owner using their van for up to six weeks a year – often leaving it gathering dust out the front of their house for the remaining 46 weeks – Camplify offers RV owners a free, easy-to-use platform to market and hire out their beloved vans to other holiday enthusiasts.

Brisbane-based Luke is a huge believer in the share economy. He became a Camplify member in early 2016 with two Ezytrail camper trailers. He had his first hire within just a few days of listing, and in his first three weeks, he earned over $2,700. Immediately he saw the potential of the Camplify platform as an awarding investment strategy.

Luke has since started his own business Adventure Shack, where he offers his camper trailers through Camplify and advertises a number of awesome kayaks and a great range of adventure-type accessories. Today, Luke manages a fleet of 11 RVs and is always on the lookout to help other modern RV owners wanting storage and management solutions.

Joining the Camplify community is simple, easy and free. Camplify connects 25,000 registered holidaymakers with 1,800+ registered vans across Australia. Van owners are making between $280 and $2100 per week hiring out their RV or caravan on www.camplify.com.au. Like ‘Airbnb’, owners control the hiring process, which includes setting the rules, pricing, availability, and (here’s where it differs) whether they set-up or allow the hirer to tow/set up the RV themselves.

RV owners can rest easy with Camplify providing insurance options from as little as $5.84 a day. This gives the RV owners peace of mind and can simply rug up with a hot cuppa, while their caravan is seeing the country with someone else.

The Camplify team has loved working with owners like Luke to make the hiring process simple and risk-free. Camplify has seen rapid growth with the latest trend in caravan and RV sharing meaning many Aussie holidaymakers are turning to caravan adventures rather than overseas holidays. With the rapid success of Camplify, RV owners are reaping the benefits.

Camplify CEO Justin Hales says: “with recent studies revealing most of Australia’s 502,000 RVs are used just six weeks a year, our site offers RV owners the chance to get their RV off their lawn, join the ‘sharing economy’ and make some extra money, while visitors have a fantastic holiday and a better night’s rest.”

Join the sharing community with Camplify with year round opportunities to travel and earn money. Holidaymakers can enjoy the natural beauty of Australia with a number of national parks and walks for the family, so upload your van today at camplify.com.au.

Why not hire out your RV through Camplify and take a much-needed break at home this winter. To find out more visit www.camplify.com.au, and join the thriving Camplify community.
