While electric bicycles have been around since the 1890s, it is only in the last decade that they have become a topic of conversation in both cycling and commuting circles. Generally, with the rapid development of technology and the audacious increase in fuel prices, it is no wonder that everybody is looking for an eBike experience.

Even though they were seen as a good idea from their inception, in the beginning, they had a lot of flaws. They were very big, heavy, and had a lot of complex methods of control. Today, thanks to technology, a whole worldwide production of electric bicycles are on the rise.

Generally, there are 3 main reasons why someone would buy an eBike:

  1. Physical activities
  2. Convenient transport
  3. Bike enthusiasts

From protecting the environment to keeping us healthy, happy, relaxed, and making our daily struggle easier, it is undeniable that some of the best electric bicycles are slowly taking over the world.

Objective Advantages of eBikes

There are numerous advantages to owning an eBike. They save you the 3 most important things a human need:

  1. Money
  2. Time
  3. Nerves

Primarily, this kind of bike is using electric power to push them forward, so they protect the environment from all kinds of harmful gases. They help in reducing congestion and pollution.

Additionally, they are very compact and easily portable. Therefore, the worries and stress that we encounter on a daily basis, such as traffic jams and finding a parking space, are bypassed. Also, you will save money simply because the parking is often free.

If you are worried about someone stealing your bike, new models of eBikes offer an option to unlock or lock it with a fingerprint. Of course, if you don’t have the luxury of buying that model, you can always secure it with locking chains as you would with ordinary bikes.

At last, nowadays it’s very risky to go on public transport and epidemiologists advise us to stay at least 6 feet apart. With eBikes you have your personal space so you don’t have to be afraid of getting infected.

eBikes as a New Way of Relaxation

The biggest thing that changed the whole world last year was the virus. People lost their loved ones, jobs, and were forced to stay at home. Psychologically, it created a huge amount of stress.

Although the situation is slowly calming down, we have been left with consequences that have damaged us in a way that will probably never be repaired.

Thankfully, there are ways that we can remove the tension from our shoulders.

For example, music has been proven to be great distress and makes you optimistic and positive about life and it relaxes you at the same time.

Also, exercise has proven time and time again to be beneficial for your body and soul. Just like music it improves your mood, reduces stress, and it’s basically meditation in motion.

However, some people don’t feel comfortable going to the gym nor have the time to do it at home. So you can get your daily exercise by simply riding an eBike wherever you want to.

Whether you go to the store, to work, or just want to go out in the fresh air, with eBike you’ll achieve it with the least amount of sweat and with the most comfort.

What better way to distress than to combine health and peace? A good way to combine the two is to hop on an eBike, open up your favorites apps for listening to music, put on your earphones, and get your daily exercises and relaxation at the same time.

What to Look for When Buying an eBike

If you decide to buy an eBike there are some basic things that you need to pay attention to:

  1. Costs
  2. Styles
  3. Range

Although eBikes are not cheap investments, they will certainly justify the money spent on them. Electric bikes can cost anywhere between $600 USD to over $8.000, depending on your needs.

With the lower cost of an eBike, you’ll get a lower quality bike, components, less advanced options, and vice versa.

Secondly, you want to figure out what kind of style you are into. The most common one is the hybrid style. It has large wheels and skinny tires, as well as the ability to ride in positions that go from slightly to completely stretched out.

Finally, you have to decide how long a battery you want to last. If you are planning to cover a big mileage you have to buy a bike with a large range. In proportion to that, it will be heavier and will cost more.

But, in any case, as time goes by the battery ages and loses capacity so it is better that you buy a bike with a bigger range regardless if it is more than enough for your needs. The more the merrier.
