iKonic 85Ti, Pinnacle skis and Luv series earn high praise

Seattle, Wash. (Nov. 17, 2015) – The top ski testers are in agreement, K2 Skis’ 2015/16 products offer skiers of all types an array of industry-leading products. With dozens of awards from the likes of Outside, Powder, SKI, Skiing, Backcountry and Freeskier, K2’s skis and boots have made a huge impact this season.

Featuring K2 Konic Technology, the all-new iKonic 85Ti ski was recently awarded SKI magazine’s ‘Best in Test’ award. Its reduced swing weight and energy efficient responsiveness allowed it to top the testers’ charts and receive the number one ranking in all testing categories: quickness, forgiveness, playfulness and crud (the ability to charge through bad snow conditions).

K2’s latest addition to the Freeride series, the Pinnacle 95, is proving to be one of the most well decorated skis of the season, donning a total of seven awards from the most well respected publications in skiing including SKI, Powder, Freeskier and Backcountry magazines. Testers loved the Pinnacle’s forgiveness and versatility, leading Outside to call the Pinnacle 95 “a highly tuned thoroughbred,” in addition to naming it one of their ‘Best Backcountry Skis.’

The widest ski in the Pinnacle line, the Pinnacle 118, also received high praise this season. The ski’s efficient yet powerful core, which also utilizes K2 Konic Technology, led testers at Skiing to ask, “what can’t this ski do?”

K2, which is bringing back the LUV this year, also received top accolades for its women’s series. Skiing reinforced K2’s status as America’s All-Mountain brand by naming the OoolaLuv 85Ti a ‘Tester’s Choice,’ and saying, “it was the most playful and forgiving ski in the [All-Mountain] category by far.” The FulLUVit 98Ti also impressed testers and was named ‘Gold Medal Gear’ by SKI and given an ‘Editor’s Choice’award from Freeskier.

K2 boots have once again been highly lauded this season. The men’s SpYne 130 HV and Pinnacle 130, and the women’s Minaret 100 and SpYre 110 were all dubbed “Gold Medal Gear” by Skiing. The Pinnacle 130 continues to stand out as one of the premier boots in the K2 lineup. It’s comfortable fit, easy-to-use walk mode and tech binding compatibility led testers to salute the boots well engineered design.
