Women Who Code Is Now 50,000 Members Strong

The International Non-Profit Dedicated to Helping Women Excel in Technology Careers Continues Its Rapid Expansion Worldwide

San Francisco, CA - November 17th, 2015 -- Women Who Code (WWCode), a 501(c)3 advocacy group that works to empower women around the world to achieve success in the technology industry, just announced that they have surpassed 50,000 members. This achievement highlights the explosive international growth of the organization in recent months, as well as the underlying need for the support and networking services that they offer.

In June of this year, Women Who Code announced that their member base had hit the 30,000 mark. The release of these new numbers shows that they are now incorporating over 4,000 new members per month into their organization. They’ve done this through a strategy of building and connecting Network hubs around the world in order to provide local groups where women can find inspiration and education.

“The strength of Women Who Code comes from the many members and Network Directors that make up our organization,” said Alaina Percival, the CEO and Board Chair of Women Who Code. “By working together we can bring the potential benefits of technology careers to women everywhere, while empowering them to find success in the field.”

Formed in the San Francisco Bay area in 2011, Women Who Code started as a local community group. In 2013 the organization was incorporated, and then in June of 2014 it received 501(c)3 status. Since then, local Networks have formed in 60 cities and 20 countries around the world. Most recently they were able to launch in Beijing, Dublin, and Austin, thanks in large part to the efforts of Joey Rosenberg, the WWCode Global Leadership Director.
