"I & U / 1,2 1,2" Art Exhibit by Santos Guerrero a.k.a. TKNY
MKT BAR at Phoenicia Specialty Foods Downtown presents a solo exhibition of works by Houston-based visual artist Santos Guerrero, titled "I & U / 1,2 1,2" on view February 19 through April 17, 2016, with an opening reception on February 19th. The exhibition will feature paintings and the unveiling of a site-specific mural commissioned by Phoenicia Specialty Foods.

Santos Guerrero’s compositions blend inter-dimensional time/space narratives to create surrealist landscapes, often centered around anti-form line compositions. He employs a vast range of techniques from oil-based, acrylic, industrial and aerosol paints to avant-garde forms involving various forms of medium-applications, all with a keen eye for the emotive power of color.
The opening reception on February 19th from 8PM-midnight features a music line-up including Wonky Powers recording artist George West and deejay FREDster with special guest, multi-platinum music producer The ARE whose credits includes work for LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj, and Houston’s own K-OTIX, whose latest album features cover art by Guerrero.
In honor of the artist’s hometown of Monterrey, Mexico a Santos-inspired ceviche and michelada will be available for purchase at the opening reception.

ABOUT SANTOS GUERRERO a.k.a. TKNY
Santos Guerrero (Monterrey, Mexico - 1979): A resident of Houston, Texas since the age of three, Santos began creating visual art in his early-twenties, selling out his first solo show in 2006 while painting under the artist moniker, TKNY. Employing a vast range of techniques from oil-based, acrylic, industrial and aerosol paints to avant-garde forms involving various forms of medium-applications, all with a keen eye for the emotive power of color.
