Concordia University to Host Art Exhibit Featuring Charles Kraus

Concordia University Wisconsin invites the public to experience the innovative works of Midwest artist Charles Kraus, which will be on display in the campus Art Gallery starting the end of January.
The Charles Kraus 50 Year Retrospective Exhibit will be featured Jan. 25 through March 16. An opening reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28.
A Chicago native, Kraus has had a prestigious career as a sculptor, teacher, and mentor for over 50 years. His work primarily employs casting and foundry techniques, using wax, foam, and wood. His recent work involves a complex, directly carved block technique to form circular and square columns ranging in size from 24 inches to 9 feet and cast in bronze and iron.
Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Sundays through Fridays and 6-8 p.m. Thursdays. The gallery is located in Barth 107.
