One of the reasons this event has become popular is that it falls between the Melbourne Cup, Caulfield and Victoria Derby. It is among the international recognised events in the category of horse racing.
Cox Plate 2020
The 2020 Cox Plate event is scheduled for 24th October at Moonee Valley Racecourse; expected to draw global interest in a bigger way than ever before. The event will be preceded by the Group 1 Manikato Stakes on Friday night, the 23rd of October. Last year, 2019, the event happened at 5PM, after clashing with the AFL grand final, which was extended to 4:15 PM. This year, the Cox Plate times have changed, with the event expected to start off at 4:15 PM.
