South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa Transforms into “Vegas Cowboy Central” to Celebrate National Finals Rodeo with Cowboy Inspired Dining Specials

LAS VEGAS – South Point Hotel and Casino will “Cowboy Up” to honor the return of the 2015 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) by featuring even more steak options and transforming its Italian restaurant, Don Vito’s, into a full-fledged steakhouse like Silverado Steakhouse from Wednesday, Dec. 2 through Sunday, Dec. 13.

Throughout NFR, South Point will offer double the meat for rodeo fans with the addition of its pop-up steakhouse. Don Vito’s and Silverado Steakhouse will feature the same menu, including an assortment of Italian classics and favorites among the Western lifestyle crowd with items ranging from appetizers, salads, soups, entrees and more.

Whether gearing up for a busy day on the circuit or looking to refuel after the non-stop rodeo entertainment, guests can enjoy appetizers such as Burgundy Sautéed Mushrooms ($9); Oysters on the half shell ($12 for six, $21 for 12); Southern Style Shrimp with cheese grits ($14); Seared Sea Scallops on Baby Spinach ($16); Shrimp Cocktail ($18); Lump Crab Cake with sweet red pepper sauce ($18); Jumbo Lump Crab Cocktail with mustard and cocktail sauces ($18); and Cold Seafood Platter, featuring shrimp, crab claws, lump crab and oysters ($25 for one, $48 for two).

Both Don Vito’s and Silverado Steakhouse guests can fill up on made-to-order steaks, including Filet Mignon (8 oz. $35, 12 oz. $42); Bone-In Rib-Eye (16 oz. $45); New York Strip (14 oz. $48); and Roast Prime Rib of Beef (12 oz. $29, 18 oz. $34). Guests looking to add a little extra flavor can enhance the meal with the addition of options such as Au Poivre ($5); Oscar Style, king crab meat, asparagus and béarnaise sauce ($12); Crab Legs ($25) or Lobster Tail ($39).

In traditional South Point style, both Don Vito’s and Silverado Steakhouse will offer a variety of entrées guaranteed to satisfy all taste buds, including, Chicken Parmesan ($19); Eggplant Parmesan ($19); Spaghetti and Homemade Meatballs ($20); Seafood Diavolo, sautéed shrimp, scallops and lobster served over linguini in a spicy tomato broth ($37); Tarlet Parisian, Ratatouille baked in a pastry crust, served with seasonal vegetables and fresh tomato Provencal ($26); and Double Cut Pork Chop with bourbon demi and sweet pepper and apple relish ($28). Signature dishes include Filet Trio, three Filet mignon medallions over croutons with béarnaise, roasted garlic and mushroom sauce ($39); Crab Stuffed Cobia, oven poached with a crab and brie filling over a saffron broth ($39); Braised Short Rib of Beef and Scampi, featuring a six ounce boneless short rib slowly simmered in red wine and fresh vegetables with three grilled shrimp scampi ($43); Lamb Silverado, Colorado lamb chops with Port demi glaze ($48); Alaskan King Crab Legs, one pound of crab legs with drawn butter ($58); and Lobster Tails, two 8 oz. cold water lobster tails ($88).

Guests interested in lighter options can savor in dishes such as Fresh Filet of Salmon, lightly seared then basted with Crown Royal Maple Barbeque Glaze or plain grilled over potato, red pepper and corn hash ($34); Shrimp Scampi sautéed in garlic butter ($39); and Chicken Silverado, chicken breast sautéed with a touch of oregano crowned with teardrop tomatoes, cippolini onions and lemon Beurre Blanc ($26).

To wash down each delicious meal, guests can purchase the wine of the month, featuring bottles of Rodney Strong Wine Estate wines for $20 per bottle. Diners can choose between the Cabernet Sauvignon and Charlotte’s Home Sauvignon Blanc. For each bottle sold, $1 will benefit local students through the Epicurean Charitable Foundation.

Don Vito’s and Silverado Steakhouse will be open daily at 4:30p.m. Don Vito’s will close at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
