ATLANTA, November 2, 2015 -- Robert Baird has been named Operations Manager for Georgia and the Carolinas for Turner Construction Company. Baird has been with Turner for almost 25 years, and in his new position he reports to Mark Dent, Vice President/General Manager for Turner Construction in Georgia and the Carolinas.

As Operations Manager, Baird is responsible for the oversight of all construction activity in Georgia and the Carolinas, including staffing and resource management.

Baird started with Turner Construction as a carpenter in 1992. He has steadily gained the respect and attention of Turner Construction leaders as he rose through the ranks and learned all aspects of the business. Baird has held positions from Carpenter to Purchasing Agent to Account Executive to now Operations Manager. He is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP).

Baird has spent his entire career with Turner on projects including:

• Atlanta Centennial Olympics Field Hockey Center

• 1180 Peachtree office tower

• Metro Superior Court Facility

• Monarch Tower

Originally from Peachtree City, Baird graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Architecture, from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1993. He is a husband and the father of two girls.  In his free time, he enjoys golf, cooking over an open flame (including his award-winning gumbo), and working in his yard. He lives just north of Atlanta in Cherokee County.
