Pearl Izumi Champion ambassadors inspire and empower full spectrum of runners

LOUISVILLE, Colo. (Nov. 11, 2015)—Pearl Izumi, maker of ride, run and triathlon performance apparel that empowers athletes to perform better 365 days a year, is taking applications for their second ever Run365 Champion ambassador team. The new team will help share and live Pearl Izumi’s new brand platform, “Endure & Enjoy".

The 2015 inaugural Pearl Izumi Champions team consisted of 365 road and trail running ambassadors from 43 states and Puerto Rico. The Champions team is made up of a diverse group of runners dedicated to the sport, regardless of how far or how fast they run.

For 2016, Pearl Izumi is in search of a new class of devoted brand advocates and devotees of running across all running abilities, who celebrate the passion behind, and the results of hard work —a core value that all runners share. Pearl Izumi believes that the sport is a sanctuary for anyone and everyone who yearns to sweat, sacrifice and suffer their way to earned enjoyment.

“The champions team is made up of individuals who epitomize Pearl’s message in The Pact. Whether you’re a runner who is driven by setting and chasing goals, or an athlete more inspired by the adventure, we invite those who are passionate about their sport to join the team,” said Emelie Ortiz, head of global brand marketing at Pearl Izumi Run. “Our 2015 team really helped illuminate our core values as a brand, so we are excited about the team for 2016 as our new brand positioning continues to grow momentum.”

As part of this new brand position, Pearl Izumi aims to unite athletes under The Pact, a written agreement for endurance athletes to sign in order to take back the sport. To sign The Pact go to, http://thepact.pearlizumi.com/.

The following is an excerpt from the Pearl Pact. If this sounds like you, then we suggest you apply within:

I will endure.

I will enjoy.

I shall only partake in this crazy sport I love, because I love it.

And I will quit when I quit loving it.

I am a representative of this sport.

As such, I will do my part to take the “ass” out of ambassador…(read more).

Pearl Izumi RUN Champions will set the pace for their communities, carrying forth the message of Endure & Enjoy. The Champions will act as an ambassador army that will hit the pavement at a local level, supporting dealers and sales reps as a piece of Pearl Izumi’s Run365 initiative. They will host Pearl Izumi’s trademark fun runs, demos, and represent Pearl Izumi on the road and trails.

The applications for the 2016 Pearl Izumi Champions Team is open and will be accepted through November 30, 2015. Apply today at: https://pearlizumi.submittable.com/submit
