LOCAL NONPROFIT VOLUNTEERS NOMINATED FOR 15TH ANNUAL SPIRIT OF SEDONA AWARDS

Husband and wife duo recognized for hours of service at local kid’s camp

Sedona (September 22, 2015) — Camp Soaring Eagle, a Northern Arizona Camp that runs year round, medically supervised, camping programs for children and family members from across Arizona, has announced that Eric and Bernadette Meyers have been nominated for the 15th Annual Spirit of Sedona Awards held on Sunday, October 4th, at the Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock. The pair is being recognized as the Philanthropists of the Year, which honors a Sedona area individual or couple distinguished by charitable leadership and caring for humanity.

“[The award is] more positive proof that Camp Soaring Eagle's wingspan extends out past the camp borders into lots of communities that require our vital support,” said Mike Hammer, Executive Director for Camp Soaring Eagle. “All of us at Camp Soaring Eagle are very proud that two of our own have been recognized by the Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona for their philanthropic good works.”

Eric Meyers founded National Processing Solutions in 2003 and has used his success to support worthy organizations with both personal donations as well as contributions of his company’s gross revenue. Eric Meyers currently sits on the Camp Soaring Eagle Board of Directors, and Bernadette has served on multiple fundraising committees, including Camp Soaring Eagle, Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity, Verde Valley Senior Center, and St. Joseph’s Catholic School.

Tying into their business, the Meyers established the NPS Payments in Kind program. Through this program, NPS customers choose a charity to donate a portion of their credit card fees at no extra cost. Over $200,000 was donated in 2014 through the program, and the Meyers expect that number to double in 2015. Camp Soaring Eagle is a featured charity in this impactful program.
