Global Health Nonprofit MAP International Ranked #2 “Top-Notch Charity” By Charity Navigator 

 

Leading Charity Evaluator Gives MAP 99.94 Score for Financial Accountability, Transparency, Overall Results

 

ATLANTA, June 4, 2015 - MAP International (www.map.org), one of the world’s top global health and humanitarian nonprofits, has been ranked the number two “Top Notch Charity” by Charity Navigator (www.charitynavigator.org). MAP received a 99.94 overall score and four stars from Charity Navigator, which reports the 10 Top-Notch charities earn their highest 4-star rating for financial health as well as accountability and transparency. 

MAP International has responded globally to several recent health crises. Currently, the nonprofit is providing medical assistance to the victims of the earthquake in Nepal. So far, $900,000 in critical medicines and medical supplies has been sent to Nepal with more assistance planned. Last year, MAP sent more than $4.5 Million in medicine, supplies and personal protective equipment for workers treating Ebola patients in Africa.

 

Charity Navigator examines and ranks the charity’s financial, accountability and transparency and overall results to determine the rating. Founded in 2001, Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest and most utilized evaluator of charities. Charity Navigator concludes those charities in the top 10 execute their missions in a fiscally responsible manner.

2.     MAP International (99.94)

3.     Direct Relief (99.94)

4.     Books for Africa (99.93)

5.     Step Up for Students (99.92)

6.     Weld Food Bank (99.83)

7.     Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (99.82)

8.     Central Illinois Foodbank (99.80)

9.     Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania (99.80)

10.  Air Warrior Courage Foundation (99.78)

 

The Charity Navigator rankings of other Atlanta-based charities include Medshare (97.15), CARE (81.38) and the American Cancer Society (76.35).
