Hedgepeth, Heredia & Rieder’s Rieder Named to Georgia Trend’s 13th Annual “Legal Elite,” Atlanta magazine’s 2016 Super Lawyers, Super Lawyers Top 100 and Top 50 Women Rankings

ATLANTA, March 9, 2016 – Family law attorney Rebecca Crumrine Rieder, a founding partner of Hedgepeth, Heredia & Rieder in Atlanta, has recently received multiple legal recognitions. She was included in Georgia Trend’s 13th Annual “Legal Elite” listing in the area of Family Law and in Atlanta magazine’s “Super Lawyers” rankings of Georgia attorneys. Rieder was also recognized for the second year in a row in Atlanta magazine’s “Super Lawyers Top 100” lawyers and for the fifth year in a row in the “Super Lawyers Top 50 Women” lawyers rankings. She is one of only 16 women on the Top 100 list.

The Legal Elite listing allows attorneys to recognize their peers for excellence and is open to lawyers throughout Georgia in fourteen practice areas. Attorneys are not allowed to vote for themselves, and may only vote for members of their own firm if they cast an equal or greater number of votes outside their firms. The listings are determined solely by lawyers’ votes. The list appeared in the December 2015 issue of Georgia Trend.

Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The list will appear in the March 2016 issue of Atlanta magazine.

Crumrine Rieder practices in all areas of family law, including divorce and separation. She is currently the chair of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. Additional past honors, recognitions and community service include:

  • Granted a fellowship from the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, one of only about 40 attorneys in Georgia to achieve this qualification

  • Atlanta magazine “Super Lawyer” in the area of Family Law 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015

  • Super Lawyers magazine’s “Top 100 Lawyers in Georgia, 2015

  • Super Lawyers magazine’s “Top 50 Women Lawyers in Georgia, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015

  • Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite in the area of Family Law, 2014

  • Law & Politics and Atlanta magazine’s “Rising Star” in the area of Family Law, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011

  • Chair of the Statewide Family Law Institute, State Bar of Georgia Family Law Section

  • Chair, DeKalb Bar Association

Prior to practicing law, Crumrine Rieder taught middle and high school at Davidson Fine Arts School in Augusta, Georgia.

Crumrine Rieder received her undergraduate degree from the University of the South in 1991, her MEd from the University of Georgia in 1994, and her JD degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2001.

She is a member of the Leadership DeKalb class of 2012, and volunteers for Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and DeKalb Volunteer Lawyers Foundation as a Pro Bono Guardian ad Litem for families in need. Crumrine Rieder also serves as vice-chair of the board for the Dekalb Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. She lives with her husband Doug in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta.
