ATLANTA, March 8, 2016 – Family law attorney Hannibal Heredia, founding and managing partner at Hedgepeth, Heredia & Rieder in Atlanta, has been honored with inclusion in Georgia Trend’s 13th Annual “Legal Elite” listing in the area of Family Law, and with inclusion on Atlanta magazine’s “Super Lawyers” ranking of Georgia attorneys.

The Georgia Trend Legal Elite listing allows attorneys to recognize their peers for excellence and is open to lawyers throughout Georgia in fourteen practice areas. Attorneys are not allowed to vote for themselves, and may only vote for members of their own firm if they cast an equal or greater number of votes outside their firms. The listings are determined solely by lawyers’ votes. The listing appeared in the December 2015 issue of Georgia Trend.

Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The list will appear in the March 2016 issue of Atlanta magazine.

Heredia practices in all areas of family law, including divorce and separation, and has particular knowledge of surrogacy law and adoption in Georgia.

His other honors, recognitions and community service include:

● Atlanta magazine “Super Lawyer” 2014, 2015

●   Georgia Trend magazine “Legal Elite” 2013

●   Incoming Chair, Board of Directors, Atlanta Bar Association, Family Law Section

●   Barrister, Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inns of Court

●   Volunteer Judge, State Bar of Georgia High School Mock Trial Program

●   Chair, Atlanta Bar Foundation Law Jam Subcommittee, assisting an annual event that supports pro bono legal services and Atlanta youth programs

●   Avvo.com-rated as “10.0—Superb”

Heredia received his BA degree in Psychology from Auburn University.  He graduated with his JD from Southwestern University, cum laude, in 1993, where he was the editor-in-chief of the Southwestern University Law Review.  He is licensed to practice before the State Bar of Georgia, the Court of Appeals of Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia and the United States District Court.

He lives with his wife and child in Midtown Atlanta.
