Taverns introduce 14 new lunch and dinner items

Tavern chefs add 11 dishes to lunch, 6 dinner dishes to already popular menus

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. (Feb. 18, 2016) –Tavern in the Village and Tavern at Mission Farms introduce 14 new lunch and dinner dishes to their menus, including a new appetizer, 12 new lunch dishes and six new dinner dishes. Among the new items are Chipotle BBQ Pig Wings, Blackened Tilapia and Short Rib Burger. In addition to the new items, a few Tavern original dishes are getting a makeover with updated ingredients.

NEW Appetizer

Chipotle BBQ Pig Wings – Crispy pig wings tossed in house-made chipotle BBQ sauce.

NEW Lunch Only Dishes

Salmon Club- Grilled fresh salmon, crispy bacon, sliced tomatoes, spring mix and dill aioli.

Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich- Ancho seasoned with queso fresco cheese, lettuce, black bean puree, charred corn salsa and chipotle aioli.

Grilled 4 Cheese with Tomato Soup- Swiss, provolone, cheddar and pepperjack perfectly melted with house pesto. Served with a cup of tomato soup in lieu of French fries.

Short Rib Tacos- Braised short rib, nappa cabbage slaw, queso fresco and pickled red onion on flour tortillas.

Lemon Pepper Tilapia- Served over parmesan quinoa cake with lemon vinaigrette and grilled asparagus (Mission Farms Only).

Cajun Tilapia- Sauteed spinach, herbed white rice, Tabasco cream sauce and smoked pepitas (Village only).

Blackened Chicken Quinoa Bowl- Portabello mushrooms, carrots and kale topped with sweet potato puree.

NEW Lunch & Dinner Dishes

Grilled Steak Salad- Mixed field greens tossed with cherry tomatoes, bacon, bleu cheese crumbles and balsamic vinaigrette topped with sliced petite tender steak and pickled red onion.

Short Rib Burger- Tavern’s award winning burger patty topped with braised bbq short rib, Swiss cheese, red onion and chopped pickle.

Grilled Steak Sandwich- Seasoned petite tender, provolone, creamy horseradish, arugula, red onion and radish.

Spicy Vegetarian Thai Bowl- Thai broth with coconut, lemongrass, spicy curry, rice noodles and sautéed vegetables.

Crispy Panko Shrimp- Six Parmesan-panko encrusted baked shrimp, sautéed spinach, herbed rice and lemon butter sauce.

NEW Dinner only Dishes

Pan Seared Sea Scallops- Served over creamed spinach with a crispy Parmesan quinoa cake and topped with arugula, tomato and red onion tossed in lemon vinaigrette (Mission Farms only).
