An Alarm Clock App That Gets You Up and Picks You Up

Successful people have a secret. They get up early and they have a routine. Apple CEO Steve Jobs would reportedly look at himself in the mirror and ask "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?"

Whenever the answer was "No" for too many days in a row, he knew he needed to change something.

"Sometimes you have to change your life, and sometimes your life forces you to change," says Nicole Pieternella, Awake App Spiritual Alarm Clock creator. "It can happen both ways."

A Real Wake Up Call

At 34, Nicole found herself newly married and diagnosed with breast cancer. In less than a year she underwent chemotherapy, lost her hair, had her right breast removed, underwent reconstruction surgery, and discovered that, due to the chemotherapy, she couldn't have kids.

Nicole returned to her communications job, and spent the next eight years with her head down, working and writing, just trying to move on. One day, she found she couldn't do it anymore.

Asking herself the same question Jobs would pose to himself each day, "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" the answer was a resounding "No."

"I kept feeling I wasn't participating in the same life anymore. I had become a bystander, an onlooker," she says.

So she quit her job and decided to make the most out of her life, and her talent for writing, by creating a mindfulness alarm clock app, to help other people start their day with a positive mindset and heart.

"Afterall, life is a series of wake up calls," says Nicole. "After surviving cancer I realized that the first step to everything is what really counts the most, down to taking that first step out of bed in the morning."

Awake App Spiritual Alarm Clock, 365 Motivational Messages a Year

Working with YipYip, an award-winning team of Dutch developers, Nicole developed Awake App Spiritual Alarm Clock, a mindful alarm clock app for smartphones that not only awakens the user from sleep, but awakens the mind. It works by sounding a pleasant, original Awake App track that intensifies in volume until the phone is picked up tapped, and then delivers a thoughtful message to the user in text form, with an option to listen to an audio recording. Each day, Awake App Spiritual Alarm Clock delivers a new thought-provoking and motivational message, 365 days a year.

Unlike other mindfulness apps that require 10 minutes or more of your time, Awake App Spiritual Alarm Clock delivers a powerful message in seconds. It wakes you up from your sleep, and it picks you up too, emotionally, and spiritually, so that you can put your best foot forward in starting your day.

A free weekly trial of Awake App Spiritual Alarm Clock, which launches on February 1st 2016, will be available in the App store. In March it will be available for Android users. A subscription costs only $0.99 a month or $8.99 a year to receive a new daily message, 365 days a year.
