BOSTON - December 11, 2015 -- East Boston-based custom ski company Parlor Skis today announced that it has teamed up with t leading New England brands for a regionally-focused “Meet the Makers” event as part of the brand’s next Parlor Shop Night on December 17, 2015, at the brand’s Boston pop-up shop. Parlor has partnered with handcrafted premium spirits producer Bully Boy Distillers, hand-made wooden surfboard company Grain Surfboards, women’s fashionable workwear designer Gamine, and travel lifestyle brand Hudson Sutler to answer questions on the “maker” movement and offer a variety of locally made, craftsman quality products for consumers for purchase ahead of the holiday gifting season.

“We have always lived by the idea of promoting quality over quantity when it comes to our products, which is an ethos shared by the teams at all of these local companies,” said Mark Wallace, co-founder of Parlor Skis. ”Meet the Makers is an opportunity to get a group of like-minded individuals in the same room to celebrate the ‘maker’ movement in New England, recognizing the difference that comes from building things the right way, and allowing customers the chance to shop local with some of the region’s most exciting brands in a festive atmosphere.”

The event will offer the opportunity to meet and mingle with the people behind the brands and provide a platform for a discussion on why these companies believe hand-made is the only way to go. Attendees can enjoy a Bully Boy cocktail as they browse through a curated selection of Parlor Skis, including the brand new Kingfisher, the latest from Grain’s line of surfboards, Gamine’s workwear for women, and inspired travel gear from Hudson Sutler, to score thoughtful last-minute holiday gifts for friends and loved ones.

The event is free of charge and will take place from 6-9pm on December 17, 2015, at 129 Newbury Street in Boston. Additional information on the Shop Nights program can be found at www.parlorskis.com/events/.
