Australian Family is raffling off their profitable seaside cafe to travel through Australia in a caravan.

Island Whole Foods is rate number 1 on Trip Advisor for restaurants on Phillip Island and has a reach of over 9000 followers across Facebook and Instagram. Established in 2015, Island Whole Foods is an innovative plant-based café in Cowes, Phillip Island. The business is currently turning over $500k and growing, with sales increasing year by year. The food offering consists of an all-day breakfast and lunch menu focused on wholesome plant based ingredients. They also provide specialty coffee, house made raw treats, the popular vegan COCOWHIP soft serve and superfood smoothies.
The location is literally 250m from the Cowes foreshore, open 6 days per week from 8am-3pm.
The raffle will also help to raise funds for charities that are close to Laura and Matt’s heart.
With each purchase, Laura and Matt are splitting a donation of $2 between Take 3 for the Sea, and other local charities.

Laura started Island Whole Foods at local markets, selling handmade raw chocolate, treats and green smoothies with her 6-month-old in tow.
The business grew and Island Whole Foods was transformed into a vibrant Whole Foods Café.

“I wanted to share my love and knowledge on the amazing health benefits of wholesome plant based foods with the local community. I had never run a cafe before and quickly learnt on the go training my husband, who as well had no experience in hospitality. Island Whole Foods is the only plant based cafe in the Gippsland & Bass Coast Region making everything in house including our own nut milk, beefless burger patties, cashew cheese and raw treats to name a few. As a team we are very focused on sustainability, minimizing waste, reducing plastic use and supporting customers to bring reusable cups and containers for takeaway. The cafe is a Community hub of like-minded people with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Cafe is also unique in the fact that it is situated in close proximity to world class waves, pristine nature reserves, the fastest growing humpback whale migration route in the world and also Australia’s number 1 natural tourist attraction in the penguins."

How did you get to that prize value?
To get to the value of the prize ($187000), legally we had to get a valuation done by an accountant. It was then passed onto the legal team to review and submit our terms and conditions to the state governments to approve our permits before we could go ahead with this promotion. As much as we would love to give it away for free people do need to purchase a $15 choc bar to enter!

That is right! I get it sounds crazy and really appreciate you bringing this up as I think a few people are confused at the concept. Here is our WHY:
My husband and I have always planned to travel Australia when our kids were young (they are now 2 & 4). For us this promotion means we get to celebrate with the new owner/s in 11 weeks. Yes, it is a huge risk for us. Life is short, this is exciting, allows people to dream and I have no doubt this place will change someone’s life, as it did ours. The community on Phillip Island are incredibly inspiring and supportive and we would love nothing more than seeing Island Whole Foods continue. Plus, we get to raise awareness and support our favourite charities that we are very passionate about.
Is the business profitable?
The current business format is profitable and has had sales increases year on year for the past 3 years. The business comes free of any encumbrances and the lease and rates paid for until the current lease option ends in March 19 including cash to help with the initial operational expenses. I would suggest to any friend who wants to go into business is seek advice from their accountant. The winner may have their own way of doing things or may just want the cash and assets. WHEN DOES THE WINNER HAVE TO CLAIM THE PRIZE? WHAT ARE THE CURRENT LEASE TERMS?
The winner acknowledges that the Business must be transferred no later than 29/10/18 in order to allow the winner to take advantage of the remaining lease of the Business’ premises and decide whether or not to renew the lease for a further term. The lease expires on 04/03/19 and there is an option to renew the lease for a further three (3) years subject to the winner providing notice by 09/12/18.
Winner must indicate their willingness to accept the Business by no later than 5pm AEDST on 24/10/18. If the winner does not provide indication by this time, they will have been taken to have forfeited the prize and an unclaimed prize draw will take place at the same location at the original draw at 5:30pm AEDST on 24/10/18. The current rent is $1333/month.
