Green Iced Tea Recipe with Freshly Brewed Mint Leaves

Green iced tea is perfect for hot summer days, and here is how you can prepare it yourself at home with simple ingredients.

How to make fresh mint green tea?

The most appealing part of this tea is that it is easy, quick to make and tastes the best, even without any add-ons. Usually, one should prefer fresh mint over dried leaves as it has a more intense flavor. These leaves infuse a refreshing, soothing menthol flavor and sweet aroma that stimulates the senses.

What Will You Need To Make Four Drinks?

  • 6 green tea bags
  • 2 cups water
  • ¼ cup sugar (Optional)
  • 8 mint leaves
  • 1 thinly sliced orange
  • 3-5 ice cubes

Directions for Making Green Mint Tea

  1. Add 2 cups of water and ¼ cup of sugar to boil in a large saucepan. Turn off the heat for a while. Stir until the sugar dissolves entirely, and then add tea bags with 7-8 mint leaves. Allow the mixture to blend in, and taste it. If the mixture needs sugar, add more as per the required taste.
  2. Discard the tea bags and the mint, and then fill four glasses to the brim with ice cubes. Add tea to the mixture and then garnish it with mint leaves. The key is that the mint leaves should tear apart to infuse maximum flavor. You can also add an orange slice to it for a unique taste.

Directions for Making Green Mint Tea with a Dash Of Honey

Step 1: Make use of only 2 quarts of water and bring it to a boil. Add 4-5 bags of green tea and let it steep for around 10-15 minutes. After that, remove the bags.

Step 2: Make use of syrup, in this case, honey. Add 1 cup of water and sugar to a saucepan. Boil the entire mixture for about 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved. The consistency of the mixture will turn thick. Let this mixture cool completely.

Step 3: Fill ⅓  cup with the green tea concentrate. Add honey to this mixture, top the mix with ice and water and then stir!

Helpful tools

  1. Tempered glass: Make use of tempered glass for brewing green tea. The glass withstands sudden temperature changes without breaking. This is important when brewing green tea, as it is typically brewed with hot water and then chilled with ice.
  1. Saucepan: This is wide, and it helps cook the mixture well. Choose a non-stick variant so that the mixture does not stick to the pan. Further, this allows you to wash and clean the utensil easily.

With these tools and ingredients, you can make a delicious and refreshing cup of green mint tea in no time! So, make the most of this guide and brew tea like a pro.
