LEADING EYEWEAR MANUFACTURER WILEY X^® INC. SUPPORTS NATIONAL SAFETY MONTH

Annual Awareness and Education Campaign Teaches Ways to Stay Safe And Prevent Injuries Both On The Job and Off

Safety in the workplace, in the home and in the Great Outdoors is an important issue all year long — but June is the month where the non-profit National Safety Council emphasizes safety and injury prevention with its annual National Safety Month education and awareness program.

The theme for National Safety Month 2015 is “What I Live For.” Reminding people that “Everyone has something they live to see and experience” is central to this theme and the overall program. That the word “see” is so prominently mentioned and serves as a reminder to us all how important and precious our gift of sight is, and that vision protection must be an important focus of any safety education program. The fact is the majority of accidents leading to serious eye injury or loss of sight could be avoided simply by wearing proper eye protection.

As a leading supplier of premium protective eyewear for work, recreation and everyday life, Wiley X^® Inc. is an avid supporter of National Safety Month and its effort to “spread the word” about safety and preventing injuries. “Wearing certified vision protection on the job is critically important to reducing accidents resulting in serious eye injuries and even loss of sight,” said Wiley X Co-Owner Myles Freeman, Jr. “However, there are a wide variety of everyday activities that can also be dangerous to one’s vision. Playing sports, riding a motorcycle or mountain bike, fishing or working around the yard are just a few examples. Having the right type of protection — and wearing it all the time, not just some of the time — is the best thing a person can do to stay safe and prevent eye injuries,” added Freeman.

Wiley X offers a full range of eyewear styles that meet ANSI-Z87.1 High Velocity and High Mass Impact Safety standards for true OSHA-rated protection. Their patented, removable soft foam Facial Cavity™ seal in the Climate Control series is a key feature that differentiates them from other safety eyewear brands. Select Wiley X models also carry the latest updated MIL-PRF-32432 (GL) standard for ballistic eye protection. And the newest addition to the Wiley X protective eyewear line is Youth Force™, a youth sports protective eyewear series that meets ASTM F803 sports protection standards. Every Wiley X model is designed not only for safety, but also for a comfortable, secure fit and sharp vision — all of which go a long way to ensuring a positive wearing experience in everyday situations. Wiley X is the only premium sunglass brand with this level of protection in all of the glasses it makes.

Almost all Wiley X styles are also RX-ready, providing a comfortable, fashionable eye-protection option for people who need corrective lenses.  Wiley X’s advanced DIGIFORCE™ digital Rx lens technology enhances prescription accuracy and clarity, providing clear vision over the widest possible field of view.
