October 13, 2015 (Vernon Hills, Il) – High Sierra has been honored with the 2016 Backpacker magazine Editor’s Choice award for the Symmetry 18 Ski and Snowboard pack. Citing High Sierra’s signature quality at a value as one of the main reasons for presenting the award, the Backpacker editorial team loved the versatility and efficiency of the Symmetry pack at a reasonable price point.

“Our mission is clear: to deliver exceptional product at a great price,” says Dawn Sicco, general manager of High Sierra. “With the Symmetry ski pack, we delivered many features that are beneficial to adventurous skiers and snowboarders and having that recognized by the team at Backpacker is a tremendous honor.”

The Symmetry 18 packs a lot of versatility into its tiny frame. The bag offers an integrated hydration tube cover and a removable cell phone or radio pocket on the shoulder strap that pairs well with the sport flap on the front of the bag that’s perfect for a helmet, snowshoes or an extra shell. The Symmetry is also available in 12- and 22-liter volumes, with all sizes capable of diagonal ski carry.

Since its inception, the Backpacker Editors’ Choice Awards have come to be regarded as one of the most sought-after awards for outdoor equipment and apparel in the industry. All winners excel under extensive field-testing conducted by Backpacker’s team of editors, who take hundreds of products into the backcountry to put them to the test. This extensive process ensures that the performance of the winners is truly worthy of distinction and meets the guiding principle behind the program: gear that is of real value to the readers of Backpacker magazine, who are active, long-term outdoor enthusiasts.

Backpacker editors Dennis Lewon and Kristin Hostetter formally presented the awards to the High Sierra team during the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City in August. The complete list of Backpacker’s 2015 Editors’ Choice Award winners will be officially announced in the magazine’s November Gear Guide issue, on newsstands today.
