Camp Soaring Eagle is making a difference in the lives of children and their families by providing them with camp opportunities at no cost. The organization’s involvement with national Make a Difference Day is no different from their impact all year long. Since 2007 Camp Soaring Eagle has provided a total of 67 camping sessions for 7,578 camper and family members.

According to the Defense Manpower Data Center, 19,399 active military live in Arizona (2013).  The children and families of these service men and women cope with frequent and extended deployments, the struggles that go hand-in-hand with constantly moving homes to meet military requirements, the fear and stress family’s face when mom or dad leaves for a combat zone, and the trauma injured warriors and their families may face upon the return from deployment.

Camp Soaring Eagle and Tee It Up for the Troops have partnered with each other for the second consecutive year to meet the needs of military families in Arizona.

Tee It Up for the Troop has given a $7,500 grant to Camp Soaring Eagle for a portion of their Veteran’s Camp costs for November 2015. The Veteran’s Camp offers a tailored service for the men and women who have served for our nation through recreation and relief. The children of military parents are also able to find relief through this incredible camp. Children from the ages of 6 to 15 benefit from an environment of shared feelings and circumstances during the three-day weekend camp. They enjoy playing sports, fishing, horseback riding, arts and crafts, gaming, and archery among sharing stories and learning how to effectively respond to the needs of their parents.

The Camp Soaring Eagle Veteran’s Camp provides enormous benefits to both veteran parents and their children with an adequate and unique experience. The Tee It Up for the Troops organization is no different with a long list of outstanding accomplishments. These include having helped more than 5,000 veterans restore a sense of self, family, and hope and donating over $5 million to various Veterans support groups since 2005.

The mission of these two organizations are so closely aligned, the formation of a partnership is in all ways beneficial to the needs of military families in Arizona. Katie Deutschman, Director of Foundation Giving at Camp Soaring Eagle, said, “Camp Soaring Eagle is honored to be a part of the Tee It Up for the Troops family of organizations serving our military.  We are grateful for their support in our shared commitment to our brave service men and women and their families.” For more information about Camp Soaring Eagle and ways to help, go to www.campsoaringeagle.org
