- Written by Pitch Engine

KIRBY, WY (Oct. 6, 2015)— This November, Wyoming Whiskey will host the state’s best and burliest bartenders once again for an epic cocktail recipe competition. Five regional competitions will take place on Nov. 19 and 20 and regional finalists will be invited to the State Championship event and party in Jackson, Wyo. on Dec. 4. Registration is now open!
Last year, 69 bartenders from across the state of Wyoming participated in the Shootout regionals in Laramie (The Buckhorn), Lander (Cowfish), Cody (The Irma), Jackson (Q Roadhouse), and Casper (Keg and Cork). Each regional participant mixed and presented their original WW cocktail to a panel of judges. All participants received a WW t-shirt and hat. At the finals in Laramie (The Cowboy Saloon), Jesse Brown of Cowfish edged out twelve other finalists, won the Shootout with the “Brown and Gold Derby”, and walked with bragging rights, $2,500 in cash, and a WW 2014 Shootout Champion belt buckle.
Wyoming Whiskey has upped the ante this year by adding even more goodies for participants and prizes to award to regional and state finalists. In addition to the Grand Prize of $2,500 cash and a 2015 Shootout Champion belt buckle, select products from the following brands will be awarded to Regional finalists or those who place at the State Championship:
Prizes:
- Raleigh Special 3 cruiser bike
- Vapur Incognito Flexible Flasks
- Scarpa Footwear
- Outdoor Research Apparel
- Ibex Outdoor Clothing
- Mountain Khakis
Registration is $40, the same as last year, and you can register now at www.wyomingwhiskey.com/shootout. Registration closes on October 30. Information on Shootout rules & regulations and judging may also be found at this site. Rules will be very similar to last year with the focus being on creating the best Wyoming Whiskey cocktail the world has ever seen. Wyoming Whiskey makes all of its bourbon by using Wyoming grown, non-GMO grains and water from a mile-deep limestone aquifer in Manderson that hasn’t seen the light of day in over 6,000 years.
