RELEASES TODAY - OCTOBER 1, 2015

Boston, MA (October 1, 2015) – Rising singer ED BALLOON reveals deep vocal talents with his debut EP, “NO SMOKING,” releasing on October 1, 2015. Written and performed by the Boston-based artist, the 5-song EP combines a touch of soul and R&B with an electronic base.

The three main tracks on “No Smoking” each address deeply personal issues that Balloon has encountered along the way. “Graduate” rises-up in defense of women; then, “Bass Line” packs a signature punch with his naturally ‘bass’ voice; and “Night Crawler” reveals the importance of having patience in your life. The songs "Blow Up" and "Tick Tock" frame the EP on each end respectively rounding out the overall sound.

When it came time to create “No Smoking,” Balloon turned to Dave Chapmen and Sam Creager to produce the tracks and help to capture his distinct sound.

Balloon is excited to unveil “No Smoking” with fans, explaining "I really hope people see my intricate character in my music and enjoy it."

The son of two Nigerian immigrants, Balloon discovered his passion for music at an early age. By 10-years-old, he had already become a singer and songwriter for a local hip-hop group he formed with other Boston-neighborhood children. As his voice grew deeper and deeper, so did his need for expressing his creative talents. Balloon went on to study and graduate from Brandeis University with a degree in Philosophy which he utilizes today in the development of themes and meaning behind his lyrics.
