Kirby, Wyo. (Sept. 10, 2015) - Wyoming Whiskey, maker of award-winning small batch bourbon out of Kirby, Wyo. has landed a cameo role in the Netflix series ‘Longmire’, season 4, which airs today, Sept. 10.

Based on the Walt Longmire mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson, ‘Longmire’ is a contemporary crime drama starring Australian actor Robert Taylor. Taylor plays the role of Walt Longmire who is sheriff of the fictitious Absaroka County, Wyo. After a long day protecting Absaroka, Longmire likes to sip on Wyoming Whiskey Small Batch Bourbon.

A company founded and operated by 4th generation Wyoming cattle ranchers, Wyoming Whiskey offers traditional bourbon from an untraditional place.  It is using classic bourbon distilling methods with ingredients sourced exclusively from the Big Horn Basin in central Wyoming. Hand-selected non-GMO corn, wheat and barley are all grown locally in Kirby, Byron, Thermopolis and Riverton.  Water for the recipe is sourced from a mile-deep, limestone aquifer that has not seen the light of day in over 6,000 years. The bourbon itself is distilled on a working cattle ranch in Kirby, Wyoming (population: 92).

In appreciation of our TV debut, Wyoming Whiskey created a limited Longmire Edition label for Longmire Days this summer. Thirty six cases were donated to Craig Johnson who then auctioned them off.  Craig realized over $8,000 in proceeds which will go to a charity of his choice.  Every bottle of Longmire Edition Whiskey was personally signed by each cast member during Longmire Days.   During the auction, bottle No. 1 went for $3500 with a promise of the buyer’s character being written into Johnson’s next book.

“This authentic, 100% Wyoming product was a natural fit to cast as the spirit of choice for Longmire,” said Craig Johnson, author of the Walt Longmire novels.

Wyoming Whiskey’s Small Batch Bourbon is medium amber in color with a nose of sweet corn, molasses, and clove.  It is medium bodied with a palate of vanilla, caramel, charred oak, and a hint of citrus.  The finish is mild with lingering caramel and toast, and is very smooth.

The frontier’s favorite bourbon also embarked on its national expansion this summer and Wyoming Whiskey is now distributed in 26 states, which are listed at www.wyomingwhiskey.com/wp/consumers.

Stay up to date on Wyoming Whiskey’s whereabouts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
