“Cowboy movie Star Tim McCoy in Lander and Wyoming” program in the Wyoming Community Bank Speaker’s series at the Lander Pioneer Museum Thursday July 23, at 7 p.m.
Richard Maturi will present a program on Tim McCoy at the Pioneer Museum in Lander July 23, at 7 p.m.
Maturi’s presentation, “Col. Tim McCoy, Wyoming Adjutant General & Cowboy Movie Star”, examines the life and career of Tim McCoy. McCoy traveled to Wyoming as a young man becoming a cowboy-for-hire, a homesteader and ranch owner, a friend to the Northern Arapahoe and Cheyenne, Wyoming Adjutant General and a movie star.
The program is the third in the Wyoming Community Bank Speakers Series at the museum. The series will feature speakers and programs on the area’s culture and history at all three county museums throughout the year. The programs are free and open to the public.
Richard is the author of 1,100 articles and 27 books, five with his wife Mary. He has won many writing awards and you may have heard interviews with him and Mary on public radio or TV. They have done extensive research on the life and career of Col. Tim McCoy.
“Col. Tim McCoy, Wyoming Adjutant General & Cowboy Movie Star” is presented by the Wyoming Humanities Council as part of its 2015 Humanities Forum.
The Wyoming Humanities Council provides public humanities-based programs in partnership with local organizations and is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
