Good news for Alexandria, VA residents and visitors who want to use Metro to dine, shop, or sightsee in Washington, DC: Washington REIT is opening a 750-space parking garage to the general public for evening and weekend use, beginning on July 7, 2015.

Located just steps from the Braddock Metro station, Braddock Metro Center’s garage will offer public parking from 6:00 pm to midnight Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 am to 2:00 am on Saturdays, at a flat rate of just $5.00.

Located at 1310-1340 Braddock Place in Alexandria, Braddock Metro Center is a 360,540 square foot office campus that houses the central offices of the Alexandria City Public Schools and other tenants. Its underground garage has more spaces than any other parking facility within walking distance of an Alexandria Metro station.

In addition to using the Braddock Metro Center garage to access Metro, members of the public can park there to dine and shop in the immediate area, which is located on the northern end of Old Town Alexandria.

Washington REIT decided to offer public parking in Alexandria after doing the same at Silverline Center, a recently renovated “one of a kind” office building in Tysons. This 526,000 SF office complex at 7900 Westpark Drive is located within easy walking distance of the Tysons Corner Metro station.

“Washington REIT is pleased to provide more people with easy access to Metro in both Tysons and Alexandria,” explained Anthony Chang, Senior Director at Washington REIT. “We are excited to be a part of the evolution of both of these exciting neighborhoods that benefit from their proximity to Metro.”
