'MALEFICENT VS. DAENERYS' EPISODE PREMIERE TODAY, JUNE 24, 2015

WITH A SPECIAL SURPRISE ANIMATED SEGMENT

LOS ANGELES (June 24, 2015) – It’s hero meets villain when award-winning actress and star of ABC’s The Astronaut Wives Club YVONNE STRAHOVSKI (Dexter, 24: Live Another Day) plays Khaleesi in the fifth installment of WHITNEY AVALON’s wildly popular PRINCESS RAP BATTLE.

The “Maleficent vs. Daenerys” installment starring Strahovski is currently playing on http://youtube.com/whitneyavalon, which is one of YouTube’s fastest-growing independent channels with 400,000 subscribers and 92 million views in 9 months.

For the first time, this fan-favorite series which features fictional female characters slinging insults at each other to hip-hop beats, will deliver a special surprise. “With each video we try to challenge ourselves with new elements, and this time we stepped it up with an entire animated segment,” says Avalon.

Avalon, an established commercial and sitcom actor/singer, created the series and writes, produces, and performs in each one (previously as ‘Snow White,’ ‘Leia,’ ‘Mary Poppins,’ and ‘Belle’ opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar as ‘Cinderella’) – with co-writer/co-producer STEVE GOSSETT directing and editing.

This creative duo is thrilled and grateful by the overwhelming attention the series has received. “You can’t make great content without great people,” Gossett explains, "and we’re fortunate to have a team of talented individuals that share our passion for making awesome ideas come to life.”

Avalon and Gossett plan to continue the season of rap battles, in addition to creating more of the comedy songs and short films that also populate the channel.
