Dozens of Free Concerts, Activities, Clinics and Demos at This Year’s GoPro Mountain Games June 4-7 in Vail, Colorado

Have you ever wanted to practice yoga on a stand up paddleboard, try your luck at slackline, or brush up on your GoPro skills? On June 4-7, the GoPro Mountain Games takes over Vail Village as the largest summer celebration of the mountain lifestyle with numerous free events, activities and demos for the whole family.

“We love watching the Village come to life over the three-day celebration and a big part of that is the variety of hands-on, free activities offered,” says Mike Imhof, Senior Vice President of Sales & Operations for the Vail Valley Foundation. “With nearly 25 free activities this year, we hope everyone finds something new and exciting to try.”

Below is a complete list of the free things to do during the GoPro Mountain Games June 4-7 in Vail.

KIND Offers Free Lounge, Adventure Village and Morning Yoga

Among the many activities to do at GoPro, KIND will create an immersive lounge experience for athletes and media to interact with the brand’s latest savory snack innovation, STRONG & KIND. Located in the Mountain Plaza, the lounge will allow attendees with credentials received at registration, to relax, attend daily happy hours, and interact with fellow athletes and members of the media. Attendees will also be able to attend KIND Yoga in the Morning sessions at the Solaris in Gear Town [ADD TIMES], and families can experience the adventures of the Games together at the KIND Adventure Village, complete with climbing walls and kayak tanks for kids.

Native Eyewear’s Endurance Zone

Located at Vail’s Gold Peak, Native Endurance Zone marks the first time the brand has created an excusive athlete-centered experience at the base on the mountain.  The “Zone” includes the always-popular bike wash, drinks and snacks -– along with a new expo area for partnering co-sponsors and a beer garden on Saturday which offers Endurance Athletes a free beer after they compete.  All participating athletes and spectators will have access to Endurance Zone throughout the Games. 

Free Chips & Guacamole and #TweetforTacos Contest by Chipotle

On Thursday night, Chipotle will be handing out FREE chips and guacamole for the first 600 attendees to the GoPro Outdoor Reels free screening of “Valley Rising,” taking place near the Bouldering Wall in Mountain Plaza at the base of Vail Mountain.

Chipotle will pick three winners each day during the GoPro Mountain Games to win free tacos and a swag bag (t-shirt, dinner for two, bandana) for tweeting an awesome picture of the GoPro Mountain Games with the hashtag #tweetfortacos.

Free ConcertsThe GoPro Mountains of Music presented by Coors Light will kick off Thursday night with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe presenting Run DMC Remixed, followed by Natty Vibes & Iration on Friday and closing out with The Silent Comedy followed by G. Love & Special Sauce on Saturday. All concerts at the GoPro Mountain Games are free and take place at Checkpoint Charlie in Vail Village.  

Free FilmsThe GoPro Outdoor Reels Film Series currently is scheduled to take place Thursday through Saturday nights near the Bouldering Wall in Mountain Plaza located at the base of Vail Mountain. The series includes GoPro’s Original Productions: “Valley Uprising,” “Can I Surf That,” “The SUP Movie,” and “Cerro Torre.”

Free GoPro Training SessionsWant to take your GoPro skills to the next level? Maybe learn a trick or two from the GoPro pros? Here is your chance.

Sign up for a free GoPro training session during the event, and get a unique, hands-on GoPro experience you won't find anywhere else. Classes are offered Thursday and Friday at various times so you have plenty of opportunities to get schooled by GoPro at the GoPro Mountain Games without missing any of the action!

GoalZero Charging StationsLocated on Gore Creek Drive near the GoPro Mountains of Music concert stage, the GoalZero Charging Station is the perfect place to recharge your GoPro or phone for an evening of awesomeness!

Volvo Zip LineRide the Volvo Zipline for FREE and experience the GoPro Mountain Games as never before! Originating on the North Side of Gore Creek at the Covered Bridge and ending on the South Side at the Town of Vail Pocket Park, this ~150 foot ride is a hot adventure at the GoPro Mountain Games! Simply stop by the Volvo Retail Tent, sign up for their mailing list and receive your free "passport to fly" and enjoy the UNLIMITED rides on the Volvo Zipline! Zipline will be open to all attendees weighing in under 220 LBS and will be open for operation the same hours as Gerber Gear Town.

Vibram Disc Golf ExperienceDisc jocks unite! Vibram is throwing down an awesome collection of disc fun designed to entertain the entire family.

The Vibram Disc Golf Course is located in Adventure Village in Golden Peak and will be live on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Daily Disc Golf demos and challenges include:

Coors Light Cocktail HourA free block party MG style on Friday and Saturday starting at 3pm! Thank Coors Light and River Town for helping you jump start the lunar scene at the GoPro Mountain Games at the SUP Demo Pool. Free drinks, SUP demos, SUP Happy Hour and musical jam extravaganza! River TownRiver Town will be ground-zero for all things water at the GoPro Mountain Games. An extension of Gerber Gear Town, River Town is home of the SUP Demo Pool, countless river and water partner booths, and daily free Costa Casting Clinics for aspiring fly fisher-people.

Come on down to the River Town and try out a new SUP board, demo a kayak, pick up some fly fishing casting tips from the pros, or just cruise on through to enjoy some live music and river gear.

Costa Fly Fishing Casting ClinicsCome get a casting lesson from the pros on Friday, Saturday or Sunday!

Costa & Gore Creek Fly Fisherman will be hosting FREE casting clinics on site for spectators! Stop by Checkpoint Charlie/ Gore Creek Drive at the times below to attend. Participants need to bring nothing but themselves.
