A group of Concordia University Wisconsin alumni recently competed in a charitable “Alumni Chili Cook-Off” event, sponsored by Kohl’s Corporation, and took home second place for their “Freddie’s Fiery Finest” chili recipe.

The CUW alumni included Shanta DeBoer, Heidi Lange, Linda Lemon, Brooke Worzalla, Samantha Luedtke and Jill Busch. Zoey, CUW’s comfort dog, also made an appearance at the event, along with two of her student handlers.

The annual event brought together alumni from 11 different Wisconsin universities to raise money and awareness for Children’s Hospital.

Chili Cook-Off judges included noted Milwaukee restaurant owner Joe Bartalotta, Children’s Hospital CFO March Cadieuz, and Kohl’s Senior Vice President of HR Ryan Festerling.

This was Concordia’s first year participating in the event.
