In anticipation of Election Day on April 5, Concordia University is hosting multiple events in March for students and community members to engage in the civic process and learn about candidates, starting with a City of Mequon Mayoral Candidate Forum on March 9.

The Mayoral Candidate Forum will begin at 7 p.m. and take place on Concordia’s Mequon campus, 12800 N. Lake Shore Drive. The event is sponsored by the university and the nonpartisan League of Women Voters of Ozaukee County.

Incumbent Dan Abendroth and challenger Aaron Armstrong will voice their visions and priorities for the mayoral office and answer questions submitted by audience members. Note cards and pencils will be provided.

Barbara Hunt, a League of Women Voters member, will moderate the forum.

At 7 p.m. on March 10, Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley will lead a Town Hall event at Concordia University.

The Town Hall, which is sponsored by Concordia’s Office of Student Life and the Republican Party of Ozaukee County, is open to the community and will focus on issues that are most pertinent to college students.

The Office of Student Life at Concordia University also will host two on-campus events for students to help them obtain proper voter identification cards to be eligible to vote. These events will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 9 and March 10 in the Rinker Library on campus.
