New Data from Cardlytics: Atlanta One of the Most Romantic Cities in the U.S.

What: With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, Cardlytics, an Atlanta based data analytics and digital advertising company, looked at how we spend on the “most romantic day of the year.” The company also researched the most and least romantic cities in the U.S., with Atlanta ranking #13 on the nation’s most romantic cities.

The analysis of data from 1,500 financial institutions found:

  • The majority of Valentine’s shopping happens the day of or the day before February 14th

  • More people are shopping online for their Valentine each year

  • People are 88% more likely to go to a high-end restaurant for Valentine’s than for the rest of the year

  • We spend 2.5 times more on our sweethearts than our moms
