Salt Lake City (December 23, 2015) --The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is pleased to announce that Peter Metcalf, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Black Diamond Inc., Salt Lake City, Utah, a current Member of the Salt Lake City Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco Board of Directors, has been appointed as Branch Chairman for 2016. He will succeed Bradley J. Wiskirchen, Chief Executive Officer of Keynetics, Inc., Boise, Idaho who is retiring from the Board after having served as a Director since 2011 and as Chairman since 2014.

Other members of the Fed’s Salt Lake City Branch Board of Directors are: Josh England, President, C.R. England, Inc., Salt Lake City, Utah; Susan Johnson, President, Futura Industries Corporation, Clearfield, Utah; Arthur F. “Skip” Oppenheimer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Oppenheimer Companies, Inc., Boise, Idaho; Park Price, Chairman, Bank of Idaho, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Patricia R. Richards, President and Chief Executive Officer, SelectHealth, Inc., Murray, Utah; and Albert T. Wada, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Wada Farms Inc., Pingree, Idaho.

Peter Metcalf is Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Black Diamond Inc. a Salt Lake City, Utah based design, manufacturing and marketer of active outdoor performance products for climbing, mountaineering, backpacking, skiing, and other active outdoor recreation activities.  Prior to founding Black Diamond, Mr. Metcalf served as General Manager of the Chouinard Equipment subsidiary of the Patagonia/Lost Arrow Corporation.

A native of New York City, Mr. Metcalf received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Colorado and a Certificate in Management from Drucker Graduate School of Management, Claremont University.

Active in community affairs, he is currently serving, or has served on corporate advisory and boards of directors, including the Utah Governor’s Mountain Accord Executive Committee, Outdoor Industry Association, the Conservation Alliance, Outdoor Eco-System Task Force of Utah Governors Leavitt and Huntsman, Utah Nature Conservancy and Utah Economic Development Corporation.

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco provides wholesale banking services to financial institutions in the nine western states through its head office in San Francisco, branch offices in Los Angeles, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Seattle, and a cash processing office in Phoenix.  As the nation's central bank, the Federal Reserve System formulates monetary policy, serves as a bank regulator, administers consumer protection laws, and is fiscal agent for the U.S. government.
