The Avalanche Project Announces Events at 2016 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market

Denver, Colorado (December 22, 2015)The Avalanche Project, a coalition to engage and educate backcountry wintersports enthusiasts on safety in avalanche terrain, announced today their 2016 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market planning.

The four-day trade show based in Salt Lake City will showcase a variety of events from The Avalanche Project on mountain safety, avalanche awareness and trends in backcountry gear and technology.

“We are thrilled to continue and enhance our safety initiatives at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market,” said Tim Bennet, Executive Director of AIARE. “Our mission is to spread a culture of snow-based mountain safety and responsible recreation through collaborative action and cohesive messaging. Partnering with Outdoor Retailer helps expand our impact at such an important event for the outdoor industry.”

Wednesday, January 6, 2016Demo Day – Mountain Safety with The Avalanche Project | Ongoing throughout the dayThe Avalanche Project members AIARE, Utah Avalanche Center and BCA invite you to test your backcountry skills on our field course, take a lap with an Avy Project Ambassador on your demo gear, and preview the “Know Before You Go” program during the On Snow Demo day at Solitude. Find out what your team needs to know to become an Avalanche Project Ambassador and enter to win great gear! Buyers and Media can get a $5 food voucher by visiting The Avalanche Project tent in the Demo Chill Zone, see you in the backcountry #avalancheproject.
