Master Photographer and Time-Lapser AARON KEIGHER Captures a Timeless Classic in Black-and-White with “NOSTALGIC IN NEW YORK”

LOS ANGELES (December 7, 2015) – Master Photographer and Time-Lapser AARON KEIGHER travels back to his hometown of New York to capture a fresh take on a timeless classic with his all-new original black-and-white time-lapse film, NOSTALGIC IN NEW YORK.

With the success of his recent time-lapse videos, ONE NIGHT IN VEGAS and MOVE, Keigher sentimentally set his sights on New York City. Whether you refer to it as ‘The Big Apple’, ‘The Empire City’ or the ‘City That Never Sleeps’, one thing remains true, no other city in the world has the same feel or appeal as New York.

“Neon lights may have replaced the older look of places like Times Square, but New York’s history is still alive today and its style has never died,” said Keigher. “No other city in the world quite has the same feel as New York and no city has been able to retain its unique character through decades of change. Join me as we go back in time to the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, to a grittier and more glamorous New York that can only be captured in black-and-white and with the sounds of Big Band Jazz.”

NOSTALGIC IN NEW YORK reveals that even with all the changes throughout the years, New York remains an everlasting iconic American city. Armed with his time-lapse gear, Keigher took special care to capture the sense of a time long gone; blending the old style of New York with the more modern changes interwoven with the city's true essence. Taking it a step further, Keigher purposefully shot the time-lapse in black-and-white, evoking Woody Allen’s picturesque film “Manhattan” and the era of Superman’s ‘Metropolis’ — Batman’s original ‘Gotham’.

Time-lapse photography is a technique whereby the photographer captures single photos over a period of time and then puts them together to form a video. This gives the film the appearance of time passing at a much faster rate.

NOSTALGIC IN NEW YORK marks the third installment of Keigher’s cityscape time-lapse videos, with Los Angeles and Las Vegas being the first two and plans to head to San Francisco, Miami, Chicago, Seattle and other major U.S. cities.

Inspired by the world around him, Keigher has built a stunning portfolio and solid reputation as an artist. His fine-art photography focuses mainly on landscapes, nightscapes and time-lapse films, shooting with both digital and film camera systems. His time-lapse film “Move” received a prestigious ‘Staff Pick’ on Vimeo, and his work has been featured by CBS News, CNN, The Today Show, MSNBC, Mashable, NBC News, The Huffington Post and numerous others. Keigher was recently showcased on TruTV’s new show Super Into, where his time-lapses were featured in an episode on Astronomy with Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine/The Daily Show), teaching host Kevin Pereira (Hack My Life) and viewers how to photograph time-lapses of the night sky. When not out shooting or working in his editing studio, Keigher gives private photography and time-lapse workshops in California to photography students from around the world.

Aaron Keigher is managed by Blackbox Management.
