Cleansers can be divided into two groups:

daily cleansers which are mild and clarifying shampoos which should be used monthly or whenever there is scalp build up. Mild cleansers include co-wash, as well. Co-wash is recommended for curl type 4 or those with very dry hair. Co-wash is a 2-in-1 product, so it cleanses and condition hair.

Conditioners can be divided into two groups, daily conditioner, or deep treatment. While daily conditioner can be applied daily and stay on hair strands for some minutes, deep treatments have a longer procedure. They normally have to be applied on clean washed hair while it is damp. Hair with deep treatment products on it should be covered by a plastic hat for at least 15-20 minutes. It is also recommended to apply indirect heat for better absorption. In-shower conditioners should be rinsed at the end.

Out of-shower products:

This includes priming/conditioning products like leave-in-conditioners, creams, and oils, as well as styling products such as gels, mousses, foams, and sprays. Choosing the product type needs your information about your hair and a little bit trial and error.
