7 Tips For a Stress-Free Existence

  • Written by: News Co

Living a stress-free life might seem laughable but with the right approach and mindset is entirely achievable. Eliminating, or at least reducing, the stress in your life all comes down to how you look after your physical and mental health. Taking the time to look after yourself and finding ways to manage your time will help you to float through each day with ease.

In today’s modern fast-paced world it can be easy to get caught up in the moment and let the smallest things get on top of us. Someone cutting your off in traffic, spilling your coffee, losing your keys or missing your morning run can all increase your stress levels and leave you feeling wound up for the rest of the day. While this is completely unnecessary and an irrational way of dealing with things, we are all guilty of letting stress get the better of us from time-to-time. Learning how to recognise, manage and reduce stress, however, can help us to enjoy a much more stress-free existence.

Let’s take a look at seven simple tips to help you to live in a stress-free state.

Pay Your Bills On Time

Financial stress can weigh heavily on our shoulders. Set up automatic bill payments when possible or simply pay your bills with Afterpay and allow yourself more peace of mind knowing your financial obligations are met.

Focus On One Thing

Multitasking and constantly worrying about what you must do next is a sure-fire way to raise your blood pressure. Try focusing on just one task, instead of thinking about everything that you have to do that day and calm your mind.

Create A Simplified Schedule

There is only so much time in the day and it’s important that you manage it efficiently to avoid becoming stressed. Create a simple schedule that allows you enough time to complete the most important tasks in the day. Once you have this schedule under control, you can add to it in the future but take it slow.

Stay Active

Increasing your activity levels is a great way to keep stress at bay. Whether you take a yoga class, go for a run, hike a mountain or swim, there are countless ways that you can get moving, reduce stress and have some fun.

Create Healthy Habits

Stressing out about your health can be a big weight to carry. However, trying to fix every unhealthy thing in your life at once can also be incredibly taxing. Try developing one new healthy habit a month such as drinking more water, cutting down on sodas or stretching every morning.

Take Part In Something Calming

Doing something relaxing that helps you to switch off and unwind is a great destresser. It might be something where you are very still or an active activity depending on what you find calming. For example, some people find gardening relaxing while others prefer to read a book. Just be sure to find something that works for you.

Be On-Time

There is nothing more stressful than being late. Running against the clock is enough to wind anyone up and make them feel under pressure. Make a commitment to yourself that you will always be five minutes early for your appointments going forward. With this one change, you will feel more in control of your time and under less stress throughout the day.

Take Steps To Ensure A More Stress-Free Existence

While it’s almost impossible to live completely stress-free, there is a lot that you can do to reduce the amount of stress in your life. Following the tips outlined above, you can adopt new habits and tackle situations in a different way to identify, reduce and manage stress with ease. With the right approach, you will soon feel lighter, calmer and more at ease, as your stress slowly disappears.
