Australian kids spend a great deal of time at school and while this does provide us with positive outcomes, we should be focused on preparing kids for the real world. School trips offer many learning opportunities for the students and the cultural aspect broadens their horizons on so many levels.

This is why many Australian schools are embracing the opportunity to offer their students tours to Asian nations.

If you are an educator or the principal of the school, then you might be interested in expedition tours that provide opportunities for students to visit countries like Borneo, Thailand and Cambodia to learn about their cultures and experience a different way of life. Children can learn so much by engaging with other kids from other nationalities and this can prepare them for the international workplace. The following are just some of the reasons why school trips need to be part of the whole learning process.

  • A much wider world view - Growing children need to have some kind of framework when it comes to beliefs and values. It is important to develop an appreciation of how values and attitudes can change in other cultures and other countries. Student travel has long been associated with expanding the mind and this is what modern children need.

  • It motivates them to learn more - There is only so much that a teacher in a classroom can teach children before they start to lose interest. Taking children out into the real world and allowing them to experience what has been taught in the classroom is one surefire way to get them to remember everything, but also to motivate them to want to learn more.

  • It provides fond memories - By treating Australian students to trips overseas, they get to experience things that they never would have in their country of origin and this will hopefully encourage them to want to visit the other nations. They will be less intimidated by taking a position overseas and this is great news for employers.

Lots of learning can take place outside the school walls and so maybe your educational institution needs to think about getting the kids out there into the real educational environment.
