SIXT Australia is helping Aussies hit with steep rent increases to tell their landlords to truck off with the introduction of a special moving discount to help deliver cost of living relief while looking for a new home.

In response to the ongoing escalation of home rental prices, which has seen some markets experience a 20 per cent or more increase in the past year1, SIXT Australia is easing the pain with an offer that provides a dynamic percentage reduction on the daily rate for selected van and truck rentals.

SIXT Australia CEO, Matthew Beattie said this measure would help renters get a better deal and facilitate a more affordable move, at a time when cost of living pressures were crippling much of the population.

“Australians caught up in the current rental crisis have enough on their plate trying to find and move into a new home while also dealing with cost of living pressures, so offering some relief on their rental van or truck is one small way that SIXT can help,” Mr Beattie said.

“People who have been forced to move due to a recent rental increase can contact us for a dynamic rental decrease across our selected moving van and truck range.

“While official figures show steep rises in rental costs, particularly in urban centres, anecdotally we know these increases can sometimes be up to 40 per cent or more. Naturally, this is forcing many to seek alternative accommodation, and we want to help by providing a flexible DIY moving option that can help the hip pocket.

“So, if a customer had a 50 per cent home rental increase, they’ll save 50 per cent on their van or truck rental when locking in their booking with us in May.”

In what is believed to be a first in the industry, SIXT Australia is encouraging other brands to get on board and support Aussies at a time when household budgets are getting stretched to their limits.
