Mauritius is a small island country that is a republic and is located in the Indian Ocean. This country is one of the most developed African countries. 

The capital of Mauritius is Port Louis. What is interesting is that Mauritius was not inhabited until colonization by the Netherlands in 1638. Mauritius gained its independence in 1968 and then became a republic. 

6 languages are represented in this country and there are two official languages: French and English. 

The branches of the economy that are developed and growing are agriculture, industry, tourism, and fishing.

They are very proud of their cultural heritage and do not comment too harshly on food, people, or religion, they are very sensitive about it.
