Sounds weird, right? Using pollen for health. But bee pollen is different to the plant pollens that cause so many people allergies at this time of year. In fact, eating bee pollen from your local bees can even help build your resistance to the plant pollens in your area!

That’s the brilliant nature of a functioning ecosystem.

Unfortunately we humans aren’t so in sync with our environment that we get to experience these benefits. Especially when we live in cities. That’s why we’re lucky to have powerful natural products like Bee Pollen that bring the wisdom of nature to you!

Today, I’m going to share 3 super easy ways you can add Bee Pollen to your day, but first, let’s talk about why you’d want to…

Bee Pollen is a collection of plant pollens, combined with nectar and honey, all stuck together with bee saliva.

Sounds gross, but it’s actually really clever.

The bees use their saliva to ‘glue’ the pollen together. The enzymes in the saliva work on the ingredients, binding and breaking them down, so by the time they are ready to be eaten, all the nutrients they contain are very ready to digest and absorb.

The bees fly this collection of pollen back to the hive in little sacs on the sides of their legs – sort of like carry-on luggage! As they enter the hive, their legs are ‘brushed’ and the pollen is released. Bee pollen is stored in the hive, where it naturally ferments, increasing the potency of the nutrients and becoming a major food source for the worker bees.

Bee Pollen a highly potent food source for humans too.

The nutrient profile of bee pollen is different, depending on the plants that grow where it is collected. What all bee pollens have in common is a healthy combination of free amino acids, vitamins, fats, carbohydrates and concentrated phyto-nutrients. The combination and concentration of these nutrients make bee pollen a powerful food source of energy with B vitamins for a healthy nervous system, fats that support healthy brain and liver function, and antioxidants and flavonoids that improve detoxification and reduce inflammation.
