British Airways joins a growing list of transfer partners including Cathay Pacific and Thai Airways, empowering SMEs with expanded redemption options and flexibility

AUSTRALIA, 29 April 2025 — pay.com.au, the end-to-end payments and rewards platform, today announced its latest partnership with Avios and British Airways, further expanding its impact in the rewards space and driving more value for Australian businesses.

British Airways is the latest of seven new partners to join pay.com.au’s transfer partner network in the past six months, reflecting increasing demand from Australian businesses for smarter, more flexible ways to make their hard earned dollars stretch further.

“Since day one, our mission at pay.com.au has been to build innovative technology that empowers Australian business owners to make payments more rewarding. With over 9 billion PayRewards Points already earned and growing, our network is growing with it, offering more flexibility and choice to SME owners than ever before,” said Edward Alder, Managing Director at pay.com.au.

“Partnering with Avios and British Airways opens up a whole new world of travel rewards, giving our users even more freedom to redeem their hard earned points their way. Business owners work hard for every dollar they earn — so why shouldn’t they be rewarded for every dollar they spend?” Edward concluded.

As part of its recent expansion push, British Airways joins a growing list of major airlines — Cathay Pacific, Air Canada, Vietnam Airlines, and Thai Airways — as well as leading hospitality groups IHG and Marriott Bonvoy, further enhancing travel and loyalty options for growing businesses.

Rob McDonald, Chief Commercial Officer at IAG Loyalty, the home of Avios, said, “We’re proud to partner with pay.com.au to offer even more rewarding opportunities for British Airways customers. This collaboration gives Australia’s business community a powerful way to build travel rewards through everyday spending, deepening their connection to Avios and The British Airways Club, and bringing them closer to their next trip.”

To date, pay.com.au has supported customers in redeeming over 6 billion PayRewards Points for travel, gift cards, and products and services. With over 70% of pay.com.au customers choosing to transfer their PayRewards Points to airline miles, this new partnership with Avios and British Airways will complement pay.com.au’s major airline partners and will bring business owners new opportunities for savings and upgrades on their business travels.
