We very much rely on technology to drive our businesses forward here in Australia and if you are a business owner then you certainly will not be the exception. It would be impossible for any business to survive without some form of technology being used in everyday transactions and every store or business would have at least one desktop computer available. There seems to be a common trend however and it is the fact that even though we live in a very Bluetooth world, there are still cables scattered all around the office place that are a tripping hazard.

Imagine then other businesses that use multiple desktop computers and other digital devices and you can see where problems might occur. This is when cable management becomes absolutely essential because in this very health and safety world that we live in here in Australia, you as the boss or manager need to do whatever you can to protect both yourself and your employees. If you look around your office place right now and there are cables everywhere then the following are just some of the reasons why you need to keep everything more organised.

  • It creates a safe working environment - Australian businesses report many office places accidents each day and the vast majority of these could be avoided if people would just follow the health and safety rules that are put in place. There are cables all over the floor then there is a higher likelihood that people will trip and fall and hurt themselves. By not taking action today, you will have to make a claim on your insurance and this will drive up the cost of your premiums.
  • It helps to save time - As the well-known saying goes ‘time is money’ and this is incredibly applicable when it comes to running your business. Computers experience issues almost every day of the week and so you need to call in the technical people to address any problems. If there are multiple cables strewn all around the desk and office place then it makes it really difficult for them to figure out which cable goes with what and this is definitely not going to save anybody any time at all.
  • It definitely saves money - In order for any workplace to be more efficient and more effective, it needs to be more organised and if you take the time to have all of the cables properly managed in your workplace then there is less likelihood of them getting severed or broken. You then don’t have to put your hand in your wallet to pay out for new cabling and that is money saved right there.

You also have to think about prospective clients who come to your workplace and see how disorganised your business is. It is important to create the right first impression every single time and this is when cable management comes to the forefront. Take action today with regard to safety and to project a more professional image.
