Dear readers,

I’m writing to fill you in on a legal matter we’ve recently resolved with Channel 9, regarding their new Sunday morning television series featuring CPA CEO Alex Malley, called “The Conversation with Alex Malley”.

We are in no way affiliated with Channel 9’s The Conversation TV. As the owner of “The Conversation” trademark we felt that Channel 9’s use of our name was unfair and potentially confusing.

At our request, Channel 9 has agreed to cease referring to the program as “The Conversation” and will, after 8 airings of the show, rebrand the program.

Channel 9 have placed a disclaimer about the use of our name on their website and associated social media channels.

The Conversation is an independent source of news and views, sourced from the academic and research community. We are covered by a charter of editorial independence that protects us from commercial or political influence.

A number of readers asked us about the connection with the program, and we wanted to clarify that there is none.

Andrew Jaspan, Editor.
