1. Find Out What Kind Of Animals You Want To Work With

You see, when you work with animals, there are a lot of career opportunities out there. You can work on a wildlife reserve, you could be an anti-poaching expert, you could work in a zoo, or you could find employment in a sanctuary for marine animals.

You could also become a vet and you can work on a farm too. The point here is that getting an animal related job before you go into this career field full time is probably a good idea. You need to find out if you are up to the task of caring for animals for 8 or more hours per day as a full time job.

 

4. Get Your Certificate II In Animal Studies

If you are totally sure that you want to spend your life working with animals, we would recommend getting your Certificate II In Animal Studies. This will teach you many of the skills you need in order to care for animals, what different animals require, and so on and so forth. Getting this certificate will also open up many doors to you. The fact of the matter is that you can get your certificate online and even work on the side, which is a big bonus no doubt.

 

5. Follow Up With A Secondary Animal Related Degree

Finally, if you want to specialize in something, you can always go for a secondary certificate or degree. You could take animal biology, zoology, environmental science, or even take a veterinarian course too.

Sure, an Certificate II In Animal Studies is enough to get started, but if you want to make a career out of it and make big bucks, getting a secondary degree on top of it is probably a good idea. It will open up many more career opportunities and it will help build both your knowledge and skill set.
